Robin is 25 years younger than his father. After 10 years, their ages will be in the ratio 1:2 . Find their present ages.

Now:
father ---- x
Robin ---- x-25

after 10 years:
father = x+10
Robin = x-25 + 10 = x-15

(x-15)/(x+10) = 1/2
2x - 30 = x+10
x = 40
