I would love for someone to check my work on the seven problems that I did. I would be eternally grateful. I am going to list my problems and answers. Even if you only want to check one of them, that would be great.
1. Write an equation of a line in point slope form that has a slope of -3 and passes through the point (3, -4).
I got y=-3x+13
2. Write the equation of a line in point slope form that has a slope of -3/4 and passes through the point (4,5).
I got y=-3/4x+8
3. Write the equation of a line in slope intercept form that passes through the points (-2, 7) and (3, 12)
I got y=x+9
4. Write an equation of a line in slope intercept form that is parallel to y=3x+6 and passes through point (-10, 2.5).
I got y=3x+32.5
5. Write an equation of a line in slope intercept form that is perpendicular to y=-4x-2 and passes through the point (-16, -11).
I got y=1/4x-7
6. Write an equation of a line in slope intercept form that is parallel to the line x+4y=6 and passes through -8, 5).
I got y=x+28
7. Write an equation of a line in slope intercept form that is perpendicular to the line 2x-3y=12 and passes through the point (2, 6).
I got -1/2x-17

Hey - you do not need me to check. Just put the point back in
what is y if x = 3 ????
y = -3 (3) + 13
y = -9 + 13 = -4
Right :)

HOWEVER it said "point slope form"
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - -4 = -3 (x - 3)
or in other words
y + 4 = -3 (x-3)
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - -4 = -3 (x - 3)
or in other words
y + 4 = -3 (x-3)

Now number 4 asks for "slope intercept form"
y = m x + b
m = 3 yes same slope
2.5 = 3(-10) + b
2.5 = -30 + b
b = 32.5
so we agree
y = m x + b
m = 3 yes same slope
2.5 = 3(-10) + b
2.5 = -30 + b
b = 32.5
so we agree
