What is confusing about 6 times 2?

David Q
Is the ÷ symbol confusing you? This is a division sign: it's usually typed as a slash (/) these days because there's no ÷ symbol on most modern keyboards. What you're looking at is (9/3)x(8/4), which as Bob's already noted is just 6 times 2.

if you know your order of operations its quite simple if you don't these are it.
Parenthesis
Exponents
Multiplication & Division(from left to right.which means if division comes before multiplication do it first but if multiplication comes before division do that first. so what ever comes first out of the two)
Addition & Subtraction (from left to right)
so here is how the problem goes
(3)x(2)=6
dont listen to bob or david. because they don't know what they are talking about. 9/3 is 3...9-3 is 6.

Kiana is absolutely right: 9 divided by 3 IS 3. How embarrassing - sorry.
