I need to answer a few questions fo my chemistry homework-

1.Why does the mass of copper sulphate decrease as a result of being heated?

CuSO4 usually exists as the pentahydrate; i.e., CuSO4*5H2O. The water of crystallization is lost on heating. How much of the water is lost depends upon how long and how extensive the heating. I can lose all of the water.
