A) How much time does it take the automobile to overtake the truck?
B) How far was the automobile behind the truck initially?

since s = 1/2 at^2, the truck moved for t seconds, where
42 = 1/2 * 2.15 t^2
t = 6.25 seconds
The car moved
1/2 * 3.47 * 6.25^2 = 67.77 meters
so, it was 25.77 m behind the truck
v = at, so you can figure out the speeds, I expect.
