No. The way to do this (by hand) is to move the decimal on the 0.64 to 64. So add two zeros to the 8 to make 800 so that's the same as 800/64 = ?
If you're using a calculator just punch in the numbers. But if you're using a calculator how could you come up with the wrong answer? Read the answer wrong?

The way I was taught to divide decimals was to move the decimal point in the divisor over so that it becomes a whole number. Then, move the decimal point over the same number of places in the dividend.
8 / 0.64 = 800 / 64 = 12.5

The answer is 12.5 I grew up knowing that you can't divide something into a larger number..... I need to rewire my brain thank you. (Random mumbling about how little sense this makes)
