An olympic hurdler is in a race. He is running at 10 m/s and jumps over a hurdle. How high did he jump if he was moving at 1m/s as he crossed the fence?

V^2 = Vo^2 + 2g*h = 1
10^2 - 19.6h = 1
-19.6h = -99
h = 5.05 m.
