I will assume your second equation is
y = 2x + 1
sub that into the first:
2x + 1 = x^2 + 5x - 9
x^2 + 3x - 10 = 0
(x+5)(x-2) = 0
x = -5 or x = 2
if x = -5, y = 2(-5) + 1 = -9
if x = 2 , y = 5
so they intersect at (-5,-9) and (2,5)
y = 2x + 1
