On a standardized test, Ann received a score of 85, which was exactly 2 standard deviations about the mean. If the standard deviation for the test is 4, what is the mean for this test?

I assume you meant

exactly 2 standard deviations <u>above</u> the mean

So, 2 std's = 8, making the mean 85-8 = 77
