would you classify 2C(s) + H2(g) ---> C2H2(g) +227.4 as endothermic or exothermic? Why?

Look at the equation. If it is forming C2H2 PLUS 227.4 (whatever units that you didn't copy) it is GIVING OFF HEAT so it must be exothermic.
