Social: trade increased both in local areas and exports of cotton based products (clothing, etc.) increased primarily exports to England. Slavery however grew, since there was demand to operate the machines.

Technological: There was a higher demand for machines that could spin and weave cotton. The steamboat would also come about to help transport these goods in trade.
