a + b - b = 9 - b

a = 9 - b


The different of digit = 5


b - a = 5

b - ( 9 - b ) = 5

b - 9 + b = 5

2 b - 9 = 5 Add 9 to both sides

2 b - 9 + 9 = 5 + 9

2 b = 14 Divide both sides by 2

2 b / 2 = 14 / 2

b = 7


a = 9 - b = 9 - 7 = 2
