Distinguish clearly between ▲G for a reaction and ▲S of the same reaction. Which of the two is used to predict whether a reaction is spontaneous? why? (4 marks)

dG = dH - TdS
dG is the total; dS is just a part. dS contributes its part but clearly it must be added into dH before one knows the total energy of the system.
