Pet therapy? That doesn't seem to help with a dog doing tricks.

I don't know of any "teaching tricks classes." In obedience classes, owners are trained (rather than the dogs) to get their dogs to obey commands. The principles learned there can be generalized to training the dogs to do tricks.
