A painter used 1 1/2 gallons of paint to paint 3/4 of a room. At this same rate, how many gallons will it take to paint the whole room?

Do this problem the same way I showed you for your last one. Set up a proportion. Cross multiply and solve for x.

Sorry for the late reply, but i think he would nees 2/3 gallons
1/2 gollons for 3/4 of the room
This means (1/2 * 1/3) gallons for 1/4 of the room. Because one third of the room already painted would require one third of the paint already used. So,1/4 th of the room requires 1/6 of the paint. So 4/4 would require (4 * 1/6) which is equal to 2/3.
