I SEE 4 THEN IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ADDED A 0 TO THE NEXT 4TO MAKE 40 SO MAYBE IF I ADD ANOTHER 0 IT WOULD BE 400

Here's the pattern I see --

(4 * 3) + 1 = 13

(13 * 3) + 1 = 40
