-x^2 + 1 + 2/x^2
= -1/x^2 (x^4 - x^2 - 2)
= -1/x^2 (x^2-2)(x^2+1)
b(x^2-1) - b(x-1)^2
= b(x-1)(x+1 - (x-1))
= b(x-1)(2)
