if two identical squares have a total area of 18x^2+36x+18, find the length of one side of one of the squares

Answers

18x^2+36x+18
= 18(x^2 + 2x + 1)
= 18(x+1)^2

so one square is x+1 by x+1, the other is 3√2 by 3√2
