Your description is not clear.
A square prism has two ends that are squares, basically a box.

You say: the base is 14 in
Do you mean each side of the square base is 14 inches?
then you say: the perimeter is 8 inches.
The perimeter of what?
And then it says: the height is 10 inches
No matter which way I wrap a string around the box, (the perimeter) , I can't get 8 inches.
none of this makes sense to me

I have tried many surface area equations, and this is the only one that worked.
SA = 2ab + 2bc + 2ac - (a is 14, b is 10, and c is 8.)
= (2*14*10) + (2*10*8) + (2*14*8)
= 280 + 160 + 224
= 664
The equation that I used is for a rectangular prism.
I was only doing equations for prisms, and this is the only one that worked.
I hope this helps? :)
P.S. I am sorry if this could be wrong. I have been trying for quite a while. If this is wrong, I think you should ask your teacher about it.
SA = 2ab + 2bc + 2ac - (a is 14, b is 10, and c is 8.)
= (2*14*10) + (2*10*8) + (2*14*8)
= 280 + 160 + 224
= 664
The equation that I used is for a rectangular prism.

all you have to do to know what answer is yours is look at questions 2 and 3. I knew my correct answer was SoggyWaffles because bunny had wrote out his answers and on questions 2 and 3 he had answers that weren't answers for my question of 2 & 3. Thats how I knew that my correct answerer was SoggyWaffles. I think that the answers from SoggyWaffles are meant for 8th graders only.
