the pattern appears to be quite obvious

1, 1/4, 1/9, 1/16, 1/25,.... or
1/1^2, 1/2^2, 1/3^2,1/4^2 etc

the second is even more obvious.
doesn't the denominator start at 1 and increase by 1 ??

In case you didn't understand Reiny's answer for the first problem --

1 = 1 divided by 1 squared
1/4 = 1 divided by 2 squared
1/9 = 1 divided by 3 squared
1/16 = 1 divided by 4 squared
1/25 = 1 divided by ? squared
?? = 1 divided by 6 squared

I'm sure you can find the next number in this sequence.
