The radius of a cylinder is 3x-2cm. The height of the cylinder is x+3cm. What is the surface area of the cylinder?

the surface area is the two circular bases, plus the curved sides.
a = πr^2 + πr^2 + 2πrh
= 2πr(r+h)
= 2π(3x-2)(3x-2+x+3)
= 2π(3x-2)(4x+1)
a = πr^2 + πr^2 + 2πrh
= 2πr(r+h)
= 2π(3x-2)(3x-2+x+3)
= 2π(3x-2)(4x+1)
