In log(base of 1000) 0.1 , how exactly would you find x

Since 1000^x = 0.1 isn't really working.

Whar are you trying to solve:
=log 0.1
1000

since 10^3 = 1000,
10 = 1000^(1/3)
1/10 = 1000^(-1/3)
so, your log_1000(0.1) = -1/3

1000^x = 0.1
works just fine; you just have to know how to evaluate it.
x = -1/3
