then two of the slope triangles have base w and height along the slope of
sqrt(h^2 + L^2/4)
so the sum of those two triangle areas is
w *sqrt(h^2 + L^2/4)
similarly the sum of the other two triangle areas is
L * sqrt (h^2 + w^2/4)
