By the end of the year Kieran's savings is 9/2 of Simon's savings. a) what is the ratio of Kieran's savings to their total savings? b) how manytimes the total amt of money saved is Kieran's savings? c) how many times the total amt of money saved is Simon's savings? d) Simon save $28 less than Kieran. How much do both of them save altogether? - I think I have all but (d) but would like to double check. Thank you.

a) 9:2 ; b) 9; c) 2; d) $54

a) Kieran has 9 parts and Simon has 2 parts, so together they have 11 parts,
So the ratio of Kieran's parts to the whole
= 9parts : 11parts
= 9 : 11

b) Kieran/total = 9parts/11parts = 9/11

c) Simon/total = 2/11

(notice 2/11 + 9/11 = 11/11 or the whole total)

d) 9x -2x = 28
7x = 28
x = 4
so Kieran saved 9x or $36
Simon saved 2x or $8
So together they saved 36+8 or $44

check:
Kieran: 36 , Simon: 8 , total 44
a) ratio of Kieran:Simon = 36:8 = 9:2, check!
b) Kieran ÷ total = 36/44 = 9/11 , check!
c) Simon ÷ total = 8/44 = 2/11 , check!
d) Simon +Kieran = 8 + 36 = 44 , check!
How many times the total amount of money saved is Kierans savings.

This is a fancy way of wording ratios
Its wording it so that you make it a frcation.

so what you do is you add the amount of Simons savings to the amount of Kierans savings and get 11. 11 comes first in the equation so that is the numerator and 9 is the denominator because it come second in the equation. so therefor the answer to the question is 11/9 reverse the answer for the answer to the inverse problem of this problem

this is the dumbest explenation
The answer for d is $44
The reason is that 36+8=44 easy math
