“No parts of England’s colonies can be taxed without their consent….every part has a right to be represented.” Explain what the quote means about the relationship between the British government and the American Colonies.

The British government was demanding taxes from the colonies, but it didn't let the colonies vote on or approve these taxes. The colonies saw this taxation as theft. The British saw this taxation as the government's right.
