What do you mean you changed the fractions to 4x-3x=28-6 ? HOW ?
That doesn't even make any sense

-1/4x+6=2/3x+28
multiply each term by 12 , the LCD

(-1/4x)(12) + 6(12) = (2/3x)(12) + 28(12)
-3x + 72 = 8x + 336
-11x = 264
x = - 24
