For the following system of equations, what is the x-value of the solution?

-x + 2y = 6
6y = x + 18

A. -18
B. 0
C. -6
D. 3

Confused? Still trying to work it out. Please help! Thanks

first line them up properly

#1: -x + 2y = 6
#2: x - 6y = -18
add them:
-4y = -12
y = 3

in #1:
-x + 6 = 6
-x = 0
x = 0

why did you not sub your values back in to see if you are correct ?
