since you got -1 for your final answer, did you try it to see whether it works? How about y=0?

(0+1)(0/(1-0)) = 0, not -1

assuming you meant

(y+1)(y/(1-y^2))
(y+1)(y) / (1+y)(1-y)
y/(1-y)

(y+1)(y/1-y^2)
(y+1)[y/(1+y)(1-y)]
y/1-y
correct ans is b
