@Need Help,

The answer kind of varies. Though, you can go to Spark Notes and put in the search: Johnny Tremain. It will give you summary chapters and themes for it. For reading role, just go to the lesson that they told you to go to, read over the reading roles and say how the reading roles helped me figure out stuff like how to understand unknown vocabulary words and then choose one reading role as evidence for the story.(You may have to read the story for that part ) Hoped this helped!

Part 1

The main themes of Johnny Tremain include: humility, hard work, professionalism, finding one's place in life, integrity, patience, self-sacrifice, and violence. The reason I chose these ideas are because I believe that at the end of reading this book, the reader will come to truly understand what these traits mean, how to practice them and why they are so important.Take for example humility. Before Johnny learned humility, he was immature, self-centered, somewhat egotistical, and thought only in terms of his small world. But after learning humility, he gradually develops into an independent, humble, generous, and patient young man.

Part 2

My Reading Role was 'Summarizer'. This helped me because, I could focus on the main idea of the paragraph or chapter that I read, and this in turn helped me to understand the story's plot a little better. For example, after reading that Johnny was deeply upset that Rab died as a result of the battle of Lexington, i backtraced after reading o understand just why johnny was so deeply shaken. This helped me to understand the story better emotionally.
