Why do you think Lavinia Lyle's action is heroic?

Because she's trying to protect Isannah.

OK.
What about Billy Dawes? Why does he want to get out of Boston?

Honestly, I would go with mostly B as the answer.(I also haven't read the book, but looking up the word "heroic" helped a lot.)
For A, telling someone about something is not usually heroic. However, sometimes it can be, but it really doesn't seem to be the answer.
For D, it doesn't seem to be the answer.
For C, it kind of sounds like he is being a bit of a "coward". This is because it sounds like he is running away from something he doesn't want to do.
I can't really tell you if I am right or not because I am just going off of what I know about the word "heroic".
I hope this helps? :)

Callie -- I'm glad your friend "helped" you, but I'm sure you can find these answers yourself if you read some of the parts more than once.
