A makes 4x
B makes 3x
A saves 3x/4
So, A spends 4x - 3x/4 = 13x/4
B spends (4/5)(13x/4) = 13x/5
So, B saves 3x - 13x/5 = 2x/5
The savings ratio is thus
(3x/4):(2x/5) = 15:8
B makes 3x
A saves 3x/4
So, A spends 4x - 3x/4 = 13x/4
B spends (4/5)(13x/4) = 13x/5
So, B saves 3x - 13x/5 = 2x/5
The savings ratio is thus
(3x/4):(2x/5) = 15:8
