There were many typing errors in the last part of my previous answer.
A part of am imperative command to a group of people, such as "Everyone realize that your homework will count one-third towards your grade" , the first form is correct.
You are probably only interested in the present indicative tense, so stick with "Everyone realizes.."

Treat "everyone" as a singular subject. Your second sentence example should read:
"I hope everyone realizes his contributions"
"I hope everyone realizes his contributions"

Drwls is correct. The verb is "realizes" because the subject is singular -- "every<b>one</b>" -- they have to agree or match.

I hope everyone realizes his contributions... or is it "recognizes" a better word for it?

Either is OK, although the meanings are different. The important thing is to conjugate the verb correctly, for the singular subject. That means putting an "s" at the end of the verb.

what about...
I want everyone to realize....
this is without "s" right?
I want everyone to realize....
this is without "s" right?

Yes, but "to realize" is the unconjugated infinitive form of the verb in that case. The subject of the sentence is I, and the conjugated verb is "want". "Everyone to realize" is what is wanted.
