A car is moving at 53 miles per hour. The kinetic energy of that car is 5 × 105 J.

How much energy does the same car have when it moves at 102 miles per hour?
Answer in units of J
HELP!!!!
I've tried doing (5*10 J)* (102/53)^2 and I keep on getting it wrong PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND

3 answers

1) KE=1/2*m*v^2

(KE*2)/v^2=m

2) KE=m*v^2

use the mass we found and convert mph to m/s
2) KE=1/2*m*v^2

sorry about that.
The kinetic energy is 5 x 10^5
So make sure to type (5*10^5J)*(102/53)^2
