100 cm = 1 meter
Divide the centimeters by 100 to find the number of meters.

to convert units, always multiply by something/the same thing in other units.
For example there are ten gophs in one bork
10 gophs/ 1 bork is the same top and bottom so if I multiply by that or its inverse I change nothing.
so
if I have 15 borks
and want to express that in gophs
I do:
15 borks ( 10 gophs/1bork) = 150 gophs
or
if I have 30 gophs and want to express that in borks I do:
30 gophs ( 1 bork /10 gophs) = 3 borks
If you multiply by something that is the same top and bottom, you do not change it, only its words :) It is basically one.
