5/6 - 4/6 = 1/6

1/6 + what = 2 (1/4)
twice because average of two things is sum over two

1/6 + what = 2/4 = 3/6

what = 2/6 = 1/3

the choices are 35/2 , 40/2, 45/2

How about this ?

(5/6 - 2/3 + x)/3 = 1/4
1/6 + x = 3/4
x = 3/4 - 1/6 = 7/12
