Two sounds have measured intensities of I1 = 102 W/m2 and I2 = 408.00 W/m2. By how many decibels is the level of sound 1 lower than that of sound 2? Answer in dB

10 log I1/I2 = 10 log (102/408)

= 10 log .25 = -6.02
so 6 lower
