    If (g) means grams, 3.03 is the number of grams of C; That is an uncommon way to write an equation. It might mean something else too

    The whole question is,"suppose you were at a gas station filling your tank with gas. The function C(g) represents the cost C of filling up the tank with g gallons.  Given the equation C(g)=3.03g, what does the 3.03 represent?"

    3.03 represents the price per gallon. (Ahh.. The good old days)  
When you wrote 3.03(g), the g in parentheses was confusing. It is better to write the cost as just 3.03 g, as you did the second time
