Question
Find derivative of
y= x^3(5x-1)^4
I got
y'= 2x(5x-1)^3 +16x^2+5x-1
is this right? If not what and where did I go wrong

for starters
x^3[ 4(5x-1)^3 (5) ] + 3 x^2 (5x-1)^4
x^3[ 4(5x-1)^3 (5) ] + 3 x^2 (5x-1)^4

Hmmm. You have
y = uv, so
y' = u'v+uv'
= 3x^2(5x-1)^4 + x^3 * 4(5x-1)^3(5)
= x^2(5x-1)^3 (3(5x-1) + 20x)
= x^2(35x-3)(5x-1)^3
y = uv, so
y' = u'v+uv'
= 3x^2(5x-1)^4 + x^3 * 4(5x-1)^3(5)
= x^2(5x-1)^3 (3(5x-1) + 20x)
= x^2(35x-3)(5x-1)^3
