5/8 of the 64 musicians in a music contest are guitarists. Some of the guitarists play jazz, solos, and the rest play classical solos. The ratio of the number of guitarists playing jazz solos to the total number of guitarists in the contest is1:4. How many guitarists play classical solos in the contest?

So, 3/4 * 5/8 * 64 = 30

I got 30 because 5/8 of 64= 40 guitarists. Now it's saying 1:4 out of the 40 play jazz solos. How many play classical solos? Well if 10 out of the 40 play jazz, that means 30 play classical. Hope this helped!!

Since there are 64 musicians in total, 5/8 of that would be 40 ( 64 divided by 8=8 then multiply 5=40 ) The ratio of guitarists playing jazz solos to the total of guitarists is 1:4, which means 10 of the 40 are playing jazz solos. There are 30 left which are the guitarists playing a classical solo.

5/8 = 40/64 so thats 40 playing guitar, and if 1:4, or 10:40 are playing jazz, then the rest are playing classical solos. so 40-10=30 so 30 is your answer :) hope this helped!
