If f(x)=x^5-1/3, find
f^-1(-31/96).
I think the first step would be to find the inverse of -31/96, but I am not sure how to find that :).
Then I could make x^5-1/3= the inverse of -31/96.

y = x^5 - 1/3
inverse
x = y^5 - 1/3
y^5 = x + 1/3 = -31/96 + 32/96 = 1/96
if y^5 = 1/96
then y =1/2.5 = .401
inverse
x = y^5 - 1/3
y^5 = x + 1/3 = -31/96 + 32/96 = 1/96
if y^5 = 1/96
then y =1/2.5 = .401
