I am helping my granddaughter in algebra and need to know how to get the answer.
What is a solution of x² + 6x = –5?
x = –6
x = –1 (I say this one)
x = 1 * (she thinks it is this one)
x = 6

x^2 + 6x + 5 = 0
(x+1)(x+5) = 0
x = -1 or -5
(x+1)(x+5) = 0
x = -1 or -5
