between the two, they cover the 230 ft. So, after Belle has been swimming x seconds,
2x + 5(x-10) = 230
2x + 5x - 50 = 230
7x = 280
x = 40
2x + 5(x-10) = 230
2x + 5x - 50 = 230
7x = 280
x = 40
