well, if 10^(x+4) = 10^1
then
x+4 = 1
or if you mean
(10^x) + 4 = 10
then
10^x = 6
log10 (10)^x = x
x = log10 (6) = .778
then
x+4 = 1
or if you mean

then
10^x = 6
log10 (10)^x = x
x = log10 (6) = .778
