Asked by Peter
Car 1 has 6 times the mass of car 2, but only 0.4 as much kinetic energy. What is the ratio between the speeds of the two cars (v1/v2)? You must type your answer as a numerical value.

Let:
m1 = 6 kg
m2 = 1 kg
KE1 = 0.5m1*V1^2 = 04 * (0.5m2*V2^2)
0.5*6*V1^2 = 0.4 * 0.5*1*V2^2
3V1^2 = 0.2V2^2
3V1^2/V2^2 = 0.2
V1^2/V2^2 = 0.2/3
V1/V2 = 0.258
m1 = 6 kg
m2 = 1 kg
KE1 = 0.5m1*V1^2 = 04 * (0.5m2*V2^2)
0.5*6*V1^2 = 0.4 * 0.5*1*V2^2
3V1^2 = 0.2V2^2
3V1^2/V2^2 = 0.2
V1^2/V2^2 = 0.2/3
V1/V2 = 0.258
