111 a thermonuclear device, the pressure of 0.050 liters of gas within the bomb casing reaches 4.0 x 106 atm. When the bomb casing is destroyed by the explosion, the gas is released into the atmosphere where it reaches a pressure of I .00 aim. What is the volume of the gas after the explosion?

2 answers

P1V1 = P2V2
P1 = 4.0E6 atm
V2 = 0.05 L
P2 = 1.0 atm
V2 = ? Calculate.
But as I see it the "atmosphere" is a huge bucket of air and the release of this much gas eventually adds to to air already there and is insignificant to the eye or touch.
