I am confused on how to solve this problem, can you help me?
It says the distance around the outside of Cedar park is 0.8mile. Joan ran 0.25 of the distance during her lunch break. How far did she run?
A. 0.2mile B. 0.25 mile
C.1.05 mile D. 2 miles

I did 0.80-0.25=0.55
so I figured that is what she had left so I know took the total 0.80-0.55 and got0.25 which is B.
My friend said the correct answer was A. but I don't see how to get that. Can you help?
Thanks

Your friend is right.

0.25 * 0.8 = 0.2 mile

You can also figure it in your head. 0.25 is 1/4. One fourth of 8 is 2.

You can buy 5 T shirts at Baxter's for the same price that you can buy 4 T shirts at Bixby's. If one T shirt costs $ 11.80 at Bixby's how much does one T shirt cost at Baxter's?
