The ratio of boys to girls is 3 to 7. If there are 200 more girls than boys, how many boys are there? Use a tape diagram to solve.

Girls : Boys = 7 : 3

Girls+Boys:Girls-Boys = 10:4 = X:200
where X is the total number of children (Girls+Boys)

or
10/4=X/200

Cross multiply to find
X=200*10/4 = 500
