Is this sentence correct.

While at home, I regretted the expensive purchase,I vowed to return one of the sweaters.

You should either put a period after the word purchase and make two separate sentences, or you should make the statement read, "While at home, I regretted the expensive purchase, so I vowed to return one of the sweaters." Hope this helps! :)
