Confused!! None of these questions are multiple choice.
1) -18 + 4 + x = 9 - 19
2) 32 - 6x + 7x = -15 + 28
3) -4x + 5(x -2) = -16 + 10
4) 4.8 + x -5.9 = 3.6
5) 1/3x + 1/3 (2x - 15) = 3 1/2
I have to find x for all of them, but I'm not sure what to do first.

Isolate x on the left side. Do what you do on the left side of the equals sign to he right. EX: If it is
4.8 + x -5.9 = 3.6
We tr to ISOLATE x. So let's get rid of the 4.8 and -5.9.
4.8 - (4.8) + x -5.9 + (5.9) = 3.6 - (4.8) + (5.9)
Notice how to remove 4.8 on the left I subtracted 4.8 and similarly to get rid of -5.9 I added 5.9. Again the RULE is, whatever you do to one side, you have to do to the other. So I subtracted 4.8 on the right and added 5.9. Solve this and you get your value for x. Similar situation for all other question. If there is a term being multiplied by x, divide it to eliminate it, and if it is being divided then multiply it to eliminate it. But always do to the other side what you do to one side.
