Question

if 2.19e-9 mol of 176-W emits 1.07e15 beta particles in 1 hour. what is the decay constant?

how do i go about doing this? i know the equation 0.693=kt(1/2) but i don't think that is helpful here

I would convert 2.19E-9 to mols and call that No. Then N = initial mols - 1.07E15, and put that into
ln(No/N) = kt.
You know No, N, and t. Solve for k.
